Chris Sutton has said that Celtic forward Daizen Maeda is “very frustrating”.
The BBC Sport pundit has noted that Celtic forward Daizen Maeda is not particularly great with his delivery in the final third.
The former Celtic striker, though, has noted that the 25-year-old Japan international forward has “pace to burn”.
Chris Sutton on Celtic forward Daizen Maeda
Sutton made the comments on BBC Radio 5 live while looking ahead to Celtic’s UEFA Champions League campaign.
Celtic will take on Feyenoord away from home in UEFA Champions League Group E on Tuesday evening.
Sutton said: “Daizen Maeda, he is very frustrating, his delivery at times in the final third, but he has pace to burn.”
Daizen Maeda an important player for Celtic
In our view, Daizen Maeda is an important player for Celtic and will play his role in the Hoops’ quest to get out of the UEFA Champions League group stage.
It is not going to be easy for the Bhoys to progress to the latter rounds of the UEFA Champions League this season, but Brendan Rodgers’s side are surely going to try their best.
And we believe that Maeda will have a big role to play.
The 25-year-old has given one assist in five Scottish Premiership matches for Celtic so far this season.
The forward made 25 starts and 10 substitute appearances in the league for the Hoops last season.
Maeda scored eight goals and gave five assists in those games.
