CELTIC have posted their year-end financial results – and it makes for good reading for the Scottish champions.
The Parkhead club have announced a staggering profit of £40.7million for the financial season just gone.
Celtic have revealed their annual report for the year beginning June 2022[/caption]It was a great year both on and off the pitch for the Hoops as Ange Postecoglou led the club to a domestic clean sweep before leaving for Tottenham this summer.
Celtic lifted the Treble under the Aussie boss but it’s Brendan Rodgers who is in now charge of the team following Postecoglou’s departure.
The Hoops qualified for the Champions League last season for the first time since the 2017/18 campaign and it proved to be a big money maker for the club.
Their financial gains from Europe have been reflected in their annual accounts.
Revenue has increased by 35.8% to £119.9m following last year’s total of £88.2m.
During that time their operating expenses including labour increased by 4.0% to £95.4m.
The figures are taken from the yearly period between June, 2022 and June 30 this year but during that time the club made a total of $14.4million from player sales.
However, that doesn’t include the huge £25million fee they received for Jota after he completed his mega-money move to Saudi Arabian champions Al-Ittihad in July.
The acquisition of player registrations fell from £38.4million in 2022 to £13million in 2023.
The report shows that the cash net of bank borrowings comes in at £72.3million compared to last year’s total of £30.2million, showing their progress off the park is paying off.
